Records Retention Policy

This Records Retention Policy is the result of a working group composed of representatives of pastoral administrative departments, pastors and school administrators, and in consultation with the Administrative Board. The policy was also reviewed and received support from the Priest Council in its June, 2016 meeting.

This policy applies to all records – paper, electronic and other formats – that are produced or received by employees and staff of the Archdiocese of Washington , its parishes and schools. This pol icy will be implemented during the next twelve months becomi ng fully effective as of July 1, 2017. Implementation will begin with the Central Pastoral Administration offices followed later by the parishes and schools.
